Campaign for the Fair Oaks Library Collection

The shelves at our east Redwood City library, the Fair Oaks Library are looking very bare these days. Decreasing city budgets have shrunken the purchasing power of the library’s book budget by 50% over the years.

I Love Animals Photo In addition, the needs of the largely Spanish-speaking users are shifting. Many are working to become more proficient in English and want materials to help them do so. The critical need is for English as second-language materials, picture books for young children, fiction and non-fiction for children and adults, magazines for teens, and DVDs for family viewing.

We have set a goal of $250,000 to upgrade and revitalize the collection and provide access to quality library materials. Your gift benefits those whose success in school and working lives depend on this well-used library. Last year alone the branch hosted over 79,500 visitors.
