Silicon Valley Foundation awarded a $100,000 grant to the Redwood City Library Foundation to be used for Bridging the Digital Divide.

We are proud to announce that the Redwood City Library Foundation has been awarded $100,000 grant for Bridging the Digital Divide. Two programs were chosen to receive the grants as part of a special anniversary grant making initiative from Silicon Valley Foundation.

"we are proud to be able to support two nonprofit organizations that articulated innovative yet practical plans for preparing low-income students for college and career"

- Valerie Cuevas, senior program officer at SVCF

The Bridging the Digital Divide Program will loan laptops, wi-fi hotspot devices and charging kiosks from the Fair Oaks branch of the Redwood City Library. More than 30 percent of students in the surrounding neighborhoods lack reliable Internet access at home.
