Despite the pandemic, not only did the local community rise to meet the $435,000 funding challenge of the Makerspace, but our community continues to recognize the pivotal role our libraries serve in the region’s recovery. The 2021 fall appeal raised over $33,000 to support library initiatives like Makerspace in the Downtown Library, Career Online High School, and Bridging the Digital Divide – exceeding our goal of $25,000!
New donors joined the RCLF donor family and, although the total number of donors decreased, the average gift size remained the same. More than $2,000 was contributed on Giving Tuesday alone! We expanded our digital footprint in 2021; 55% of donations came by check (down from 61% in 2020) and 45% came online (up from 39%).
