Having unreliable broadband isn’t an inconvenience—it’s a penalty. Redwood City Public Library, through the support of Redwood City Library Foundation, eliminates that penalty for many of our residents.

A recent study published by Silicon Valley Joint Venture noted that thousands of our fellow residents lack access to broadband or only have limited access. The divide is not just lack of bandwidth. It is the daily tax paid by people who cannot apply for jobs, attend telehealth visits, finish homework, access government services, build a résumé, join a Zoom interview, or simply function in a system that assumes constant connectivity.

RCLF has been laser-focused on helping RCPL answer the need for reliable access to the Internet and up-to-date devices with the Foundation’s Bridging the Digital Divide initiative.

Please consider donating to this initiative. You can select “Bridging the Digital Divide” from the drop-down menu in the box that says “Use this Donation For.” Help us bridge the digital divide in Redwood City!
